Curriculum
Berean Baptist Academy is dedicated to presenting a quality education that meets and exceeds the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction’s (NCDPI) standards for education for college readiness.
High School Seniors ultimately conduct a research capstone project to graduate from BBA.
High School and Junior High students are taught throughout their years at BBA to master the reading, writing, and research skills necessary for this project.
Highly qualified students may participate in college courses during their Junior and Senior years through our academic partnership with Fayetteville Technical Community College. Some students have finished their program of study and graduated simultaneously with BBA and FTCC.
Every division of our academic offering, from Pre-School to Junior High, is designed to provide students with the skills required to thrive during their High School and College years. We believe curriculum exceeds a set of books from a publisher to all that is learned in school. Therefore, our teachers focus on the essentials required to be academically excellent and people of moral character and, ultimately, followers of Christ.
BBA firmly believes that there is no higher skill a person may possess than the ability to write and write well. If a person can write well, they can communicate their critical thoughts and solutions to problems and influence the world. Even those who engage in video, as influencers, first write out their script for maximum communicative impact.
Early in the student’s educational journey, we introduce them to a curriculum that promotes reading comprehension, critical thinking, problem-solving, technology tools, and writing.
We use a variety of publishers to reach our goals. These publishers are Abeka Books, Bob Jones University Press, Pearson, Summit Ministries, Purposeful Design, and Rice University OpenSource Stax. We also utilize the learning program Moby Max and the Ebsco Host Digital Research Portal and Library.
