Are your teachers certified?
Teachers (K-12) hold certifications either ACSI or the state of North Carolina, and teachers are responsible to maintain certification requirements through ongoing professional development.
What publishers do you use?
Berean’s curriculum aligns with the North Carolina State Competencies. Primary publishers include Bob Jones Press and Abeka Publishing.
How do you integrate technology?
Technology is integrated into all classrooms, both by the teacher and the student. Each student in K5-8th will be assigned a Chromebook while high school students bring their own device. We use Schoology as the primary Learning Management System (LMS) for grades and coursework.
Is your campus secure?
We operate with a concentrated effort on campus safety and security. This involves visitor screening, emergency drills, secure classrooms, security cameras, and a school resource officer.
What is the admissions process?
After taking a tour, families must submit an online application and submit the necessary paperwork. Students must take a placement test, and families must meet with a member of the administration for a prospective family interview. Visit our Admissions site (click here) for additional information.
What is your teacher-student ratio?
Preschool ratio averages 1:15, and the Kindergarten ratio is 1:16. Grades 1-12 average a ratio of 1:20.
What grades are available?
Admissions is offered for Preschool (K3 & K4), Elementary (K5-4th), Middle School (5th-6th), Junior High School (7th-8th) and High School (9th-12th).
What sports are included in your program?
Sports currently include grades 5-12 in cross country, volleyball, soccer, basketball, cheerleading, baseball, and golf. Plans are underway to expand the sports program in the next two years.
Do you have a lunch program?
Berean offers hot lunch every day with additional food options.
Where do your alumni go to college?
Visit our Alumni Wall in the upper school building. Students who graduate from BBA fulfill the state requirements for state schools. One hundred percent of our students who apply for college are accepted.
Do you require a uniform?
Berean does operate with a dress code.
Do you offer before care and after care?
Extended care begins at 6:00am and goes through 6:00pm.
What standardized testing do you use?
Berean utilizes the Iowa Basic Skills Test each Spring.
