Berean Baptist Academy rents instructional space to select private music instruction providers. All instructors support and agree with the statement of faith, mission, purpose, and values of the Academy. All instructors have passed a national background check. Berean Baptist Academy does not set the price of instruction. If you are interested in private music instruction, please contact one of our listed instructors. Music lessons currently include the following instruments:

  • Flute
  • Violin

We offer private lessons for 1st through 12th grade students. K5 students are accepted on an individual basis. We have several independent music teachers that come to the school. Each operates based on her own schedules and fees. The average charge per month begins at $80 but may vary based on teacher, length of music lesson, and instrument. Each teacher’s contact information is provided below to contact for further information regard fees and availability. 

It is necessary for you to have the appropriate instrument in your home so your child can practice on a regular basis. If you would like to sign your child up for music lessons, submit this form or contact the teacher of your choice for instructions.

Miss Sunyoung Kim

Miss Sunyoung Kim

Piano, Flute

Ms. Sunyoung Kim has over 30 years of experience teaching music. She earned a bachelor’s degree in music from Pai Chai University in Korea and continued her studies in Germany. She taught piano and flute at Berean Baptist Academy and in the Fayetteville area for 15 years. Under Ms. Kim’s tutelage, many of her students have won national awards and ranked highly at the district and state levels.

Mrs. Kim Usher

Mrs. Kim Usher

Piano

Mrs. Kim Usher has been teaching private piano lessons for 32 years. She began developing her talent in music at the age of six and continued while in high school by participating in the AACS Fine Arts competitions. Mrs. Usher earned her Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education Business/ Home Economics from Hyles-Anderson College. She currently serves as the church pianist at Northview Baptist Church. She teaches classical and church music to students of all grades.

Mrs. Beth Wilson

Mrs. Beth Wilson

Piano

Mrs. Beth Wilson has been at BBA since 1989.  She taught third grade for nine years at the Academy. She has a Bachelors degree in education and has been playing the piano most of her life. She has been teaching piano for 34 years and was a church pianist for over 10 years.  

Lessons are available during the school day and after school.

Ms. Jiho Kim

Ms. Jiho Kim

Violin

Ms. Jiho Kim is a professional violinist from South Korea with an extensive background in classical music performance and education. She completed an Artist Diploma in Violin Performance from the Korea National University of Arts and holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Chung-Ang University, with performance experience at numerous music festivals throughout Europe. She is passionate about working with young learners, believing music is a joyful and effective way to nurture discipline, creativity, and confidence in children.
