Berean Baptist Academy offers an academic program designed to prepare students to enter college, even if God calls them to military service, a technical trade, or directly into a career after high school.  Therefore, with a limited number of seats, due to the high rate of returning students each year, students with a history of high academics and an excellent disciplinary record are given priority in the application process.

All new students must complete the following steps to apply to Berean Baptist Academy.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact us at 910-868-2511 or email our Admissions Department at admissions@bbafnc.org.

Berean Baptist Academy admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. Berean Baptist Academy does not discriminate based on race, color, or national and ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.

BBA will, as a religious organization, exercise its prerogative to neither commence nor continue employment, admission, enrollment, or other categories of BBA representation or participation if it is believed by BBA that so doing will cause confusion about, conflict with, or compromise BBA’s mission to disciple students by providing a distinctly Christian education from a Christ-centered worldview. This policy will be applied to all BBA affairs, including all contracts, programs, activities, facilities, publications, and events.

Applying for an Open Seat

Step 1 - SPEAK WITH AN ADMISSIONS SPECIALIST

Please fill out our Information Request Form to receive a phone call from a member of our Admissions Team. The team will be able to answer your questions, help you with your unique situation, provide you with admissions criteria guidance, and schedule your tour.

Step 2 - Submit Special Needs Paperwork - If Needed

Due to the limited ability to support students with certain special needs, students who require a 504 Plan and/or an Individual Education Plan (IEP) for academic, behavioral, or physical support are requested to submit all supporting documents to the Admissions office before receiving an application link.

Step 3 - THE BASICS OF BECOMING A BULLDOG

At Berean Baptist Academy (BBA), we welcome students from diverse backgrounds. While it is not a requirement for all students to profess Christ as Savior, both students and their parents must demonstrate a willingness to learn the historical doctrines of the Bible and the core beliefs of Berean Baptist Church and Academy (READ THEM HERE). This openness is essential for admission and continued enrollment.

To be considered for admission, students must maintain a minimum average of “C” or higher in their core academic courses, must possess a good disciplinary record, and the family must possess a good reputation and be in good financial standing at their previous school of record.

Transferring seniors from out of town are welcome to apply. However, local seniors will only be accepted under exceptional extenuating circumstances.

BBA does permit students to reclassify when it is determined to provide a significant academic benefit to the student, such as providing academic eligibility for college programs otherwise unavailable.

We look forward to partnering with families who share a commitment to academic excellence and spiritual growth.

Step 4 - Complete Your Scheduled Tour and Submit Your Review Documents

Families who complete the scheduled tour, and have the required documents for review will be eligible to receive an invitation to apply to the Academy.

An invitation to apply is not a guarantee of acceptance.

The invitation indicates that the family is considered as viable candidates for the academy based on the citeria previously mentioned, and that the Academy would like to explore the posibility of partnering with the family a little deeper.

Remember to bring:

Proof of Identification: Birth Certificate

Academic Records: Previous Two Reports (Depending on Age) and Last Standardized Test Scores, High School Students need an unofficial transcript.

Behavior Record: A Parent Portal Printout is Sufficient

International Students Need: A Translated Copy of Transcripts

*The tour cannot be given without these documents.

**All applying students must be present on the tour.

Step 5 - Placement Exam

Once your application is submitted and reviewed, provided there is nothing disclosed that would prevent your alignment with the Academy, the Admissions Department will notify you of your test date and time options. You will be required to select one of those dates and times. As space is limited, we highly suggest you do not reschedule for another set of dates or times as we you will be moved down the priority list for scheduling.

When your test is completed, the test will be reviewed to determine if the student is eligible for entrance to the grade applied for or if another grade option would better suit the student’s learning level. The best option will be discussed in the family interview.

Step 6 - Interview & Potential Invitation to Enroll

Families who are being heavily considered for enrollment will be interviewed by a divisional principal or a member of the Admissions Department. The interivew can last anywhere from 30-minutes to one hour depending on the clarity needed from the application, the student’s understanding of the school’s policies (older students), and the parent’s understanding of the school’s policies, and any parental questions for the interviewer.

Following the interview, an admission decision is routinely sent within 24-72 hours.

For those invited to enroll, they understand that the enrollment is conditional pending all official records matching the documents submitted throughout the application process, and all references coming back favorable. This understanding will be signed during the interview.

Families invited to enroll will have 48 hours to complete enrollment of their offered seat may be extended to another family placing them at risk for any standing wait list.
